I can't take full credit for the joke in today's strip. In my capacity working at a paintball park, I'm privy to many attempts at levity. Nearly all of them are unfit for reproduction excepting perhaps in a bathroom stall of a middle-school locker. However, this one struck me as fairly clever. Too clever, in fact. I suspected plagiarism. A quick perusal of the interweb did indeed turn up that same joke, but it was always some anonymous poster passing it along.

So I figure that it's okay for me to use it without stepping on anyone's toes. If anything, I'm the first to illustrate it. I considered using Ed McMahon instead of Farrah, but the timing was just too close to pass up. Also, I thought of Billy Mays, but Tim Buckley over at Ctrl+Alt+Del already did a tribute for him.

Okay, soapbox time. I loved Michael Jackson when I was a kid. I still enjoy his music and his videos were awesome. I can remember gathering around the television with all the other Baird kids waiting with baited breath for "Black or White" to air. As an entertainer, the man was a genius.

As an individual, I wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole. I know he was acquitted on all his child molestation charges, but I'm still free to draw my own conclusions based upon the evidence released to the public as well as his own personal conduct. The man was a freak, end of story. The media may be glossing over the darker portions of his history for now, but give it a few more days, they'll turn around again. Especially once his crazy-ass dad steps into the spotlight.

Slash rant.
